With a wave of TV ads offering Free Contents Insurance when you take out your Buildings Insurance, we decided to investigate and see if these home insurance offers are really as good as they look?

The results were pretty shocking. Our quote of £187.00 was not only the cheapest, it included Free Legal Cover, a low £50 Excess and was more than £200 less than Aviva Direct's quote of £396.50.

You may have seen Aviva’s TV Ads offering free contents insurance. The contents cover may well be free, but you are clearly paying through the nose for the buildings cover!

True to their name ‘More Than’, at £301.92, were more than £110 dearer, closely followed by Direct Line at £306.60 and Churchill who were nearly double our quote at £357.00.
